Caleb is pretty into Baby Ella -- this week, anyway. He fed her lots of playdough pizza (via my belly button) on Saturday night and keeps asking where she is. "Well," we tell him, "she is in Jen's belly". He looks at my belly, sometimes tries to lift my shirt, and wants to know if she is sleeping. The easiest answer is yes. He keeps asking when she will wake up, and my best guess is that he thinks that suddenly, a new friend will appear, kind of like an instant Lauren. He is actually hoping Ella will go down to the basement play room sometime soon. So last night, he saw Scott and I and asked, "Where's Baby Ella? Is she sleeping?". Yep, Caleb, she's sleeping. "In Jen's big belly?" Sure is! As a slightly disturbed look crossed his face, he said, "YUCK!"
He has wondered if she is in my pants, and once, he thought I had eaten her (Jen ate Baby Ella all up!). Poor kid, trying to figure out one of the biggest mysteries of life at the tender age of 2 1/2.
