)*:

Ella has been acting a little off lately, and we have our answer as to why. An ear infection with a ruptured ear drum. OUCH! Poor little thing showed very few signs of trouble other than a little sass and what seemed to be a lingering cold from last week. Then, last night, she was up crying quite a bit, which is unlike her as she has not kept us up a night in her life -- until now. Sooo... this morning, I marched her in to the peds office with a fever of 102.8 (ouch again). Mind you, she had no signs of said fever even at 4 am when I checked. The Dr. took a peek in her right ear and voila! Ear infection. Poor thing is probably genetically pre-disposed to them as Scott had countless ear infections as a child. My brothers did, too, but I was spared. So when the doc pulled out that little stick thingy with the loop at the end to scrape the goo off of Ella's ear drum, it took me a minute to get what was going on. Of course, it was hard to think with all of the shreiking Ella was doing.

Now the small things make sense. Wanting only me to put her down to bed, being a bit opinionated about life in general this weekend and not taking much of a nap yesterday. Really, she must have some freakish pain tolerance that it is this bad before she complains. It wasn't even red until we left for our appoitnment.

Good news... Dr. says she should be right as rain for the big trip to Holland this weekend. Yeah!

Miriam has always been like that, too -- even with teething, i barely knew when she was cutting them unless i stuck my finger in her mouth.

it has been a different story with the boys, however... :)

I feel so sad for her. Her fever has been over 103 today and it is freaking me out. She is trying so hard to be happy, poor kid.
