Hairless...ish

Scott finally took the plunge this morning and shaved his head. He has been talking about it on and off (mostly on) for years. Even up to the last second, he was hesitating. But he went for it and it looks nice. His whole head -- face included -- has one fuzzy layer of hair.

We had Ella watch the shaving. I remember being young and seeing my Dad go into the bathroom with a mustache and come out without one and I was freaked out. You never know how a kid will take such a thing. So we all crowded into the matchbox we call a bathroom, Scott turned on the clippers and Ella did not flinch. Odd... that sort of thing would normally startle her. Then he turned upside down and started shaving. When the first pile of hair hit the floor, Ella pointed at it and poignantly said, "Uh-oh!"

When Scott was finished, we had Ella feel his new hair. It is so soft and fuzzy. She didn't show much of a reaction, but kept trying to get him to come over so she could feel it again and again. He is working all day, and it will be interesting to see if her fascination continues when he gets home.
