Shocked

Ella is up crying tonight... teething, I think. It is unusual for her to wake at all. As I was just sitting there in the dark, rocking her, I was suddenly shocked by those looooong legs that didn't have anywhere to go and those arms that can suddenly find a death grip around my neck. Wasn't it just a minute ago that she was a little treefrog all cuddled up on my shoulder? She is petite for her age -- just 21 pounds -- but without my sense of vision distracting me, I was able to feel just how big she is!
