No longer bummed...

Well, the pool is still not open and that is sad, BUT Ella and I had a great day today. We took a walk this morning and happened to meet up with a mom and her two daughters (one is 2 weeks older than Ella and they live just up the block) that we had met a month or so ago. We talked for a while and may, perhaps, have some play dates. Yeah!

Then later in our walk, we met up with another mom and her son (20 mos). She was attracted to Cammy because they used to have a boxer. We talked and are going to buy their Kangaroo Climber (we've been wanting to get Ella one and she loves it) and may have play dates with them, too. Their backyard is like kid heaven and they are just a block and a half down the street. Score.

Finally, after naps and food and our little pool, I decided we needed some after dinner ice cream. We walked down to one of Berkley's many, many ice cream places and as we were sharing a turtle sundae, Jenny and Ellie came up for some ice cream, too! (Jen & Ella and Jenny and Ellie is confusing, isn't it?). Anyway, we talked a bit and walked them home and are hoping for yet more playdates.

Charity said she felt she had arrived as a mom when her kids could eat things like Cheerios. I have been waiting for that feeling, and I think it came today. This being a (mostly) stay at home mom in the summer thing rocks so far!
