Parent-itis

My kid is a genius. Yeah, you heard me and now prepare to get jealous. She started sitting up unassisted before she was 6 months old. She knows just where to aim to touch the puppy's ears/duck's fuzz, etc in her touchy-feely books and already turns the pages herself. We played peek-a-boo all of two times before she started peeking behind the blanket rather than wait the obligatory 2 seconds between "Where's Mommy?" and "There she is!". She gives me kisses. She sings with me. When she is in her jumperoo and we say, "Jump!", she gets all crazy and jumps, quite pleased that she can respond to our request. I think she has developed a word for "food" -- "nananana". When she was sitting on my Dad's lap yesterday and my Mom told her that Grandpa was falling asleep, she turned around and looked at him. And she has started making her own jokes. Yeah, my kid is the cutest, smartest kid ever; and I have a solid case of parent-itis.

Parentitis: it's the disease you never get rid of and never want to.
