This has been a stressful week. We are trying to integrate Cammy into our family, which in part means determining whether she thinks the cats are snacks or toys. Since we can't tell yet, there is a lot of what Scott referred to as "musical animals" going on, shuffling Simon and Charlie from point A to point B while keeping an eye on Cammy and keeping Ella out of the midst of it all in case a brawl breaks out. I am not seeing any signs of aggression toward the cats, but we want to be sure.
Monday night at the unfortunate hour of 9:30, Cammy started showing signs of kennel cough. By 2:00 a.m., I was on the phone to the all-night vet clinic trying to find out how to help her through the night. If you've never heard kennel cough, it is like late-stage pneumonia -- hacking, wheezing, ickiness... poor dog. At this point, we had had her for one whole day and needless to say, Scott and I did not get much sleep that night.
So... today, she finally ate. She has barely coughed. She and Ella are learning about each others boundaries and Scott and I are catching up on sleep. Cammy is sweet, does really well on-leash, loves Ella and as long as the cat thing works out, I believe she will be a permanent member of the family.
Here are a few recent pictures:
Ella and her new bike. This was her first instinct of what to do with it.
Then she tried to ride it like this.
Finally, it was warm enough to take it outside! She LOVES her bike...she cries when we have to take it away and then we have to hide it from her.
Out for Saturday dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
New sweatshirt from Aunt Kim.... should last her a couple of years!
Getting ready for a sunny afternoon at the zoo (the real one, not our house!).
Darn cute.
