Me: "Ella, you need to take your backpack off before you get in your chair for lunch."Ella: "Oh, but I was being Adventure Ella!"
Ella: (very distraught) "Mom, there's something wrong with my nose. My boogers won't come out and it's not wet in there."
Me: (after dropping Ben's seahorse on my foot) "Ouch!"
Ella: "Are you okay?"
Me: "Yes, thank you for asking."
Ella: "I was talking to the seahorse."
Upon showing Ella my crazy orange and yellow striped chenille socks, she gasps in genuine wonder and says, "These are beautiful!" Then, after putting them on, "I have candy corn feet!" She's never had candy corn, but somehow knows just what it looks like.
