While helping Daddy water Grandma's flowers yesterday, Ella was accosted by a very, very mean insect of some variety. Initially, her back hurt, then we put some Benadryl cream on the three bites (one not pictured) and she seemed to forget about them. Though she has been supremely cranky... bug bites or too much time on the beach, we cannot tell. So this morning while getting her dressed, I checked on her back and was amazed to see a mark on her back that looks like someone pummeled her with a baseball. It is huge, very swollen and nasty looking. The little white spot is the initial size of the bite. Poor kid... mean bug.

I have never seen anything like it. The picture is a very tame representation of what it looked like this morning. Some Benadryl has helped it out a bit, though.
